Inventures 2024

Inventures Canada is a three-day event where angel investors, venture capitalists, entrepreneurs, and industry leaders from all over the world attend breakthrough sessions and have the opportunity to network with each other.

APEX Regional Innovation Network of Southeast Alberta attended the event, along with industry experts in Medicine Hat.

Attending Inventures was a game-changer for Deanna Haysom, who is the Chief Executive Officer of Welltraxx Asset Management. The unique opportunity to be immersed in a hub of creativity and learning is truly worth the time, “And if you’re considering whether to attend next year, my advice is simple: don’t hesitate.

The conference was an intentional investment in her growth in the industry, offering a wealth of insights and actionable ideas that are invaluable for anyone in the tech industry.

Unlike other events that often fall short, Inventures delivered beyond my expectations, leaving me equipped with some key information I was seeking, and I made some excellent contacts as well,” says Haysom.

Brandon Robinson, Program Coordinator and Instructor for Sustainable Innovation at the Medicine Hat College, attended Inventures for the first time in 2024. He says it was impressive to see such a diverse representation of organizations showcasing innovative ideas throughout the conference.

The opening session was particularly exciting, and I appreciated the wide range of topics covered throughout the week. The focus on agricultural technology and the practical applications of AI across different industries were especially enlightening,” says Robinson.

His role with Medicine Hat College aims to develop and implement solutions addressing societal needs while minimizing environmental impact and promoting economic viability.

Every session he attended emphasized the integration of AI in various contexts. This experience prompted him to explore new ways to incorporate AI into his teaching, enhancing student preparation for future careers.

This approach not only enriches their educational experience but also equips them with practical AI skills relevant to their fields,” says Robinson.
